"The vision of the Tobacco Free Dane County Coalition is a county free from tobacco-related death and disease."

Our Mission

The mission of the Tobacco Free Dane County Coalition is to reduce tobacco-related disease and death by preventing the initiation of tobacco use among youth, promoting quitting among young people and adults, eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke, and identifying and eliminating tobacco related health disparities."

Secondhand tobacco smoke is a "class  A carcinogen". It causes cancer in humans and there is NO known safe level of exposure.

It also causes heart disease and lung disease, and can result in complications during pregnancy

Children exposed to secondhand smoke are more likely to develop ear infections, colds, bronchitis, tonsillitis, asthma, and allergies.
