Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: My friend and I are interested in joining or starting a tobacco-free youth group at our school. How do I do that?
A: First, check out the Peer Education/TATU link to see if your school already has a group. If it does, look for the advisor's name and see him/her at school. If your school does not have a group, go to the contacts page and send Lyle Burmeister, Youth Program Coordinator an email expressing your interest in forming a youth group. He will contact you with more information.

Q: How much time commitment is there when joining a group?
A: Time commitment is actually minimal. The first training takes 4 to 5 hours, and usually occurs on a Saturday. Next, because of practice there is more commitment, usually between 2-3 hours a week. When a groups is finished preparing the presentation or activity, commitment usually will slow down to about 1 hour or so a week!
